Tim Holtz Curiosity Shop - Her Notebook

Hello my friends, I'm back to share the Her version of the notebook from an earlier post using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Curiosity Shop and Wheel and Labels Layering Stencils.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create the covers for the notebook, coloured with a light wash of Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink and applied Scorched Timber and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink through the Wheel Layering Stencil using a Tiny Blending Tool.
I repeated the process with the Labels Layering Stencil using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.
I inked the number strip from Curiosity Shop with Peeled Paint Distress Archival and holding the stamp in my hand, stamped randomly over the background.
I stamped the typewriter, label and sentiment from Curiosity Shop on what will be the front cover of the notebook, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor with the same light Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Wash, stamped the label and sentiment, inked with Scorched Timber Distress Ink and over-stamped the four leaf clover, inked with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.
I cut a slit in the panel above the typewriter with Tim Holtz Craft Knife, fussy cut the stamped label and tucked it into the slit.
I fussy cut the rest of the labels and fixed to the back cover of the notebook with Distress Collage Medium.
To finish I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint and fixed strips of Idea-ology Design Tape to cover the spine of the notebook
I'll be back soon to share more makes with this amazing release.

Simon Says - It's Up In The Air

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
IT'S UP IN THE AIR
I created a floral card using lots of favourite Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous products - Abstract Florals/Faded Type stamps and Mini Layering Stencils from Sets 59 and 60. I added a Tim Holtz/Sizzix BrushStroke Butterfly as the It's Up In The Air element and film strips from Vault Picture Show. I finished with a sentiment from Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4.3/4" x 6.3/4" and coloured the background with Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks. I added interest to the background with the Spots and Deco Floral Mini Layering Stencils from Set 59 and 60 using Rusty Hinge and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks applied with Distress Tiny Blending Tools.
I stamped the script from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type randomly on the background, inked with Hickory Smoke Distress Archival ink.
I stamped the flower and leaf from Abstract Florals on to the panel and then on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.
I coloured the images with Rusty Hinge, Crackling Campfire and Salvaged Patina Distress Watercolor Pencils using a Distress Detail Brush.
I fussy cut the flower and leaf and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and foam squares under the flower head and added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint to the background.
I die-cut the film strips from Distress Black HeavyStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Picture Show Thinlits and brayered with Rusty Hinge and Lost Shadow Distress Paints. I coloured the Idea-ology Ephemera circle with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide, sprinkled with Rusty Hinge Embossing Glaze and heat set. I fixed the film strips and Idea-ology Organic Layers Ephemera in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix BrushStrokes Butterfly from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Rusty Hinge and Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide inks, added the body die-cut from Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed in place with foam squares to create dimension. Before I added the flower and the butterfly to the panel, I sprinkled them randomly with Rusty Hinge Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set from underneath to add a little texture.
I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Tiny Text on to a scrap of Distress Black HeavyStock, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder, heat set and fixed in place with foam squares.
To finish I inked around the edge of the panel with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using a Distress Tiny Blending Tool, matted the panel on to Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed to a 5" x 7" white card blank.

I created a card using the Organic Leaves 6" x 6" clear stamp, Lace Heart and Whirl Butterflies dies from the release and Hello Wafer die and Reverse All The Love Sentiment Strip for the sentiments.
inked the Organic Leaves stamp with Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks, spritzed with water and stamped on to a 5" square panel of Distress Watercolor card.
I placed the plain heart die inside the lace heart die , die-cut 3 times from Distress Watercolor card and die-cut the plain heart on it's own. I coloured the plain heart and the outer edge of one of the lace hearts with Peachy Pawsitively Saturated ink using a Simon Says Small Blending Brush.
I layered the lace hearts to create dimension, fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and puzzle pieced the plain heart into the negative space.
I die-cut the Hello wafer die 3 times from Distress Watercolor card, layered to create dimension, coloured the top layer with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the Whirl Butterflies from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Grapefruit and Mandarin Pawsitively Saturated Inks using Simon Says Small and Detail Round Blending Brushes and fixed in place with adhesive on the body and Simon Says Foam Squares on the wings.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Mandarin Pawsitively Saturated Ink, die-cut the heart from the Lace Heart die and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
I tapped my fingers into Distress Collage Medium, applied to White Hemp Cord which I twisted together to create the bodies and antennae on the butterflies. I added a Simon Says Reverse All The Love Sentiment Strip to complete the sentiment.
To finish I inked the edges of the panel with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink, spritzed with water to create splatters and added the panel to a top-folding 5.5" square white card blank.

You will find more inspiration from the release on Simon Says Stamp Celebrate Gallery HERE and if you make anything with the release, you are welcome to share with us all in the Gallery. If you missed Day 1 of the Celebrate Blog Hop yesterday, you can catch up with more fabulous inspiration HERE. I'm off to make myself a cuppa, find a comfy sofa and enjoy an afternoon of blog hopping.

Simon Says - Celebrating You

Hello my friends, I'm sharing a card made with the Celebrating You 6" x 8" stamp set and dies and the Lace Heart die from Simon Says recent Celebrate release. There are so many amazing new products in this release and you can check them all out HERE.

I sprayed Worn Lipstick Distress Spray Stain and Distress Oxide Spray on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, pressed a 3.3/4" x 5" panel of Distress Watercolor card into the inks, dried and repeatedly tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets. I die-cut the Simon Says Lace Heart from Distress Watercolor, Vellum and Sizzix Self Adhesive Sheets.
I fixed the outer heart to the panel with Distress Collage Medium, fixed the Sizzix Adhesive Sheet inner heart into the negative space. peeled back the carrier sheet and pressed the vellum heart into place - a handy tip when you don't want the adhesive to show behind vellum.
I inked the sentiment from the Celebrating You 6" x 8" stamp set on to the vellum, inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink.
I stamped the cute critter image from Celebrating You on to a scrap of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card, inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink and coloured using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, Light Pink, Light Carmine, Mid Green and the Blender Marker.
I die-cut the critter using the matching Celebrating You dies and fixed to the panel using foam squares to create dimension. I die-cut the hearts and leaf sprig from the Lace Heart dies, coloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
I used Tonic Studios Aqua Shimmer Pen to add sparkle to the hearts and once dry, applied a coat of Ranger Glossy Accents. To finish I matted the panel on to Simon Says Green Leaf cardstock trimmed 1/8" larger and fixed to a white card blank.

I'll be back tomorrow to share a card I made for a very special event. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend and have fun with whatever you're making. Hugs Kath xxx
